A while back I went to an animal shelter and took some photos of the animals. I hope that if people see them it will encourage them to adopt! There are always many animals in shelters looking for homes. Think about it next time you want to get a new pet, and you could save a life. Above is Sturgis, a male black lab, age 3. He was sticking his tongue out at me! All of the animals in the photos have since been adopted, but they always have many more that need homes.
This is DQ, and she is a 1 year old Domestic Shorthair.
Did you know large black dogs are usually the last to be adopted, if they get adopted at all? This sad phenomenon is called “Big Black Dog Syndrome”. Don’t judge an animal just because of his fur color or size. They can be very sweet!
This is Mellon, a 1-2 year old male.
Don’t forget that October is Adopt a Shelter Dog month!
I don’t have info on all of the animals, but if you’re interested you should check your local shelter to see if you can find your new best friend!
Feel free to like Warrensburg Animal Shelter on their Facebook. Even just sharing their photos could save lives!
